Another Ethiopian natural! We definitely have a penchant for a good natural process coffee from Ethiopia. A gateway coffee for many, helping broaden horizons and get that first "woah coffee can taste like this?" moment. This coffee has a big cooked sugary presence with fresh fruity crunchy acidity; but finishes with a rich chocolate and coconut note. Both fruity-fresh and nice and rich. Yum.

This particlar coffee is from Karamo Coffee Export, owned and operated by Niguse Gemeda.

Niguse inherited land from his parents when he was only 16 year old, and started growing coffee soon after. Despite the farm being in a isolate location, Niguse would load coffee on to the backs of donkeys and mules and walk the coffee to local markets to sell.

After decades of hard work, determination, and learning, Niguse participated in the Ethiopian Cup of Excellence competition and his Karamo Kebele took first place. Niguse now specialises in premium coffee and the flagship Karamo Farm sits at a high altitude of 2380 metres above sea level.

ABOUT THE GOOD PERSON ON THE BAG:

Pete! Big Rigs! What a guy. Pete is a big fan of natural processed coffee, and Bronwyn, his partner, is not. So when this coffee crossed our cupping bowls as a two piece natural/washed combo we knew the perfect pairing. Another great combo release for another great combo in our lives.

Pete is a very (very) smiley man that will certifiably boost your mood and day after a quick chat.

Bronwyn is a strong, kind, and nuanced person. A range of hobbies, from collecting cute things to building her own mechanical keyboards from scratch, she likes what she likes and she goes deep down those rabbit holes.

They have two darling greyhounds and a cute and fluffy, but sassy, cat.
